Fasting

Over the last few months, my headaches have been getting worse.  As in, having a really hard time sleeping worse.  It makes functioning at all difficult.  I've been wondering at what point to just give up, see about getting on disability and declaring my life over.  But, happily, I ran across something that I think might help (really, I'm convinced it's going to cure me, but I don't know if it's better to downplay or not).  Fasting has been proven to cure all sorts of things.  Really, you should do some research - it's all sorts of fascinating.  Why I think it might help me is because it's supposed to be the best way to rid yourself of inflammation (which is a big component in my IPH), and because it's supposed to reset your body completely.  Granted, it works best when you're able to do a long fast, and because of my weight that might not be possible for me.

There's a fasting clinic in California (because you're not supposed to do fasting of more than three days without medical supervision), and I'm heading there tomorrow after work.  I have three weeks scheduled off of work with a medical leave of absence.  The doctor was tentatively talking about fasting me for ten days or so, but I'm hoping to go longer if possible.  That is, if the first ten days don't fix me.  And then there's a few days of refeeding. We'll see how it all works out.  Anyway, I'm planning on reporting on it as it goes along.  Wish me luck!
